eircom, Ireland’s leading Managed Services provider today announced it has been formally awarded ISO 27001 certification by Certification Europe.

The ISO 27001 certification was awarded to eircom following a rigorous auditing process conducted by Certification Europe. The certification means the Company has been independently certified and awarded the internationally recognised highestinformation security standard.

eircom achieved Ireland’s first data centre ISO 27001 certification with its Citywest facility.

Building on this successful track record, eircom has been working to achieve ISO 27001 certification for its Clonshaugh Datacentre.  Since its opening eircom has maintained the highest standards of information security and has now successful achieved ISO 27001 certification for the data centre. ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) is the world's largest developer and publisher of international standards. Specifically, the ISO 27001 standard is a globally recognised information security management system (ISMS) standard. ISO 27001 specifies the requirements fora business to establish, implement, review, monitor, manage and maintain aneffective information security management system. Commenting on the certification,
