Attention Please Students

The Deadline To Enter The eircom Junior Spider Awards Has Been Extended!

Today eircom announced that the deadline to enter the 2013 eircom Junior Spider Awards has been extended to Friday, 8th February. This is the fourth year of the eircom Junior Spider Awards which rewards students for the innovative ways they use the internet.

The awards are divided into three categories The Mega Spiders at primary level and the Giga and Tera Spiders at post primary level. The Giga Spiders are open to 1st to 3rd year students and the Tera Spiders are to 4thto 6thyear students. Each award category has a Grand Prix Award.

Carolan Lennon,chief commercial officer, consumer, eircom and chairperson of the eircom Junior Spider Awards Judging Panel said “I would encourage all students to get involved and enter the eircom Junior Spider Awards. The awards are a fantastic and fun way for students to develop their interest in the online world. We have extended the deadline for entry to this year’s awards by one week which gives students extra time to put the finishing touches to their projects.  The judging panel and I are really looking forward to seeing the end results”.

The Mega Spiders have three award categories that students can enter including: Best School Blog and Best Project. The Giga Spiders has four categories such as: Best Project and Best Irish Website/Suiomh is Fearr. There are five Tera Spiders categories including Best Concept, Best Web Design and Best Web App.
